The process begins with collecting dried coconut shells, which are the main raw material. The shells are cleaned to remove dirt, fibers, and remaining coconut pulp. Water and cleaning tools are used in this step to ensure the shells are ready for processing.
The cleaned coconut shells are cut into small flat pieces using cutting machines or saws. These pieces are selected based on thickness and quality so they can be shaped into buttons.
Sometimes the buttons are treated with natural dyes or color solutions to give different shades while still keeping the natural texture of the coconut shell. Finally, the buttons are coated with protective polish or lacquer to enhance durability and shine. They are then inspected for quality, sorted by size, and packed for use in garments.
